Bristol Emergency Veterinary Service is provided by the Rowe Veterinary Group and is run out of our North Bristol Hospital in Bradley Stoke. The Rowe Veterinary Group has been providing high quality Veterinary Services since 1949 and now employs more than 25 Veterinary Surgeons with a wide range of skills and interests. We also run a referral service, Rowe Referrals.

Facilities available include:

  • 24 hour emergency cover with the telephone always personally answered by a team of excellent Receptionists and Veterinary nurses. We will always see emergency cases at any time of the day or night
  • Dedicated night full time night nursing staff living on the premises
  • Dedicated Emergency Service and Veterinary Surgeons
  • The back up of at least two other Veterinary Surgeons on duty at any one time
  • A Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Mr Mark Owen MRCVS) who works from this hospital
  • A number of referring Veterinary Surgeons
  • 24 hour hospitalisation with Veterinary Nurse on site 24/7
  • BVHA and BSAVA approved Veterinary hospital
  • Ultrasound scanning for pregnancy diagnosis and non evasive internal examinations
  • X-ray facilities with automatic processor in order to provide rapid diagnostic images
  • Operating theatres equipped with modern advanced anaesthesia facilities and monitors including blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, Carbon dioxide and Oxygen monitoring to suit all size of patient
  • ECG and colour doppler scanner to assist in the investigation of heart problems
  • Endoscopy and Video-endoscopy facilities
  • Microsurgery facilities
  • Five consulting rooms
  • Dental theatre dedicated for ultrasonic tooth descaling, polishing, extractions, fillings and restorative work
  • Dedicated orthopaedic operating theatre
  • Wards - Various sizes for dogs, cats and smaller pets are hospitalised in seperate heated kennel / air conditioned kennel areas to provide a comfortable, secure and peaceful environment for your pet during it's stay. A seperate ward allows us to isolate and treat infectious cases
  • Vivarium for exotics and small mammals.
  • Cage side electrolyte and blood gas analysis using the recognised I-Stat system
  • On-site laboratory (using the Idexx system) enabling rapid diagnosis and early treatment plus pre-operative blood profiles every day of the week. We also have the back up of the main lab during working hours at the Wotton-Under-Edge hospital which is run by dedicated laboratory technicians who can provide wet test biochemistry, film reading, cytology, bacteriology and many more tests.

AND

If required, access to our referral services in ophthalmology, neurology, diagnostic imaging, small animal surgery, oncology, dermatology, physiotherapy, exotic medicine and surgery, medicine, behaviour, Soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery and alternative medicine. We are also an official VetMRI site with forthnightly access to full MRI facilities. Even if official referral requests are not made our referral team is happy to provide advice on all aspects of case management.
